Present a paper, poster or symposium at the 47th Annual Conference of the British Society of Gerontology in Manchester, UK, 4th – 6th July 2018, the premier UK gathering of gerontologists from a wide range of disciplines, with delegates from across the United Kingdom and around the world.

The call for abstracts (oral and poster presentations) and symposia (including flagship symposia) remains open until Wednesday 24th January.  It promises to be a fantastic conference with keynote presentations from renowned speakers, cutting edge research, and excellent networking and sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities. The conference theme this year is ‘Ageing in an Unequal World: Shaping Environments for the 21st Century’.

Manchester is a really great place to visit.  See our Visitor’s Guide, our  Top Ten Things To Do in Manchester,  and why not spend a little more time in one of the most beautiful parts of the world? See our Places to Visit in the North-West for our top picks in the region.

Whether you’re a student, first time attender, or long-standing member, we’ll have plenty of social events to participate in, and we are delighted to announce that Manchester will be a-buzz with ageing events, with a Fringe Festival on Ageing running alongside our BSG Conference, from Saturday 30 June to Sunday 8 July 2018.  Events include the Manchester Festival of Ageing; the European Falls Festival; the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub Annual Conference; and Outdoor Photography Exhibition in the vicinity of the conference and event at the renowned Whitworth Art Gallery by photographer Mark Epstein “No More Wrinkly Hands”.  Watch our Fringe page for updates!

We also have a thriving Emerging Researchers in Ageing (ERA) section, open to those relatively new to research at all, or to ageing research. ERA will hold a pre-conference event from 3rd – 4th July entitled ‘Creative engAGEment: exploring strategies to maximise public involvement in ageing research’ and all are welcome.
